Thunder Pressure

A lightning storm ravaged 17 climbers on the Grand Teton on July 21, 2010. The unreal scene left some climbers staggered, others with their flesh and hair burning — and one man was blown off the mountain by the sheer force. A daring rescue attempt by the park’s climbing rangers would ensue, right into the eye of the chaos. Brad Wieners penned a riveting account of the ordeal for Sports Illustrated.
