Uncommon Invocation

A nondenominational prayer is given before every home Oklahoma City Thunder game. People of varying faiths have offered prayers, including Christians, Jews and Muslims. The prayers largely focus on the well-being of the players in the game. Most people in Oklahoma City seem to appreciate the public prayer but some do not. I admit I was shocked to find out a prayer is being offered in an NBA arena today – or any major pro sports arena for that matter. Andrew Keh has the story for The New York Times.
